The Best “Chowdah” in Massachusetts

(Includes Boston, North Shore, South Shore, Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket)

It was a tough job, but someone had to do it! Deciding the best “New England Clam Chowdah” in and around Boston. Let’s be clear, the “Chowdah” I’m speaking of is not Manhattan Clam Chowder, nor is it Rhode Island Clam Chowder, both of these have a distinct “R” at the end!

What’s the difference you ask? Manhattan Style Clam Chowder is a tomato-based broth chowder; Rhode Island Clam Chowder is traditionally a clear chowder that contains quahogs, potatoes, onions and bacon, and the best New England Clam Chowdah has a scrumptious thick white cream base, with generous portions of potatoes and clams accompanied by at least two bags of crunchy oyster crackers and is always delicious to the last drop.
